The Black Brothers by Lisa Tetzner explores child labor in 19th-century Milan as a major social issue. This study examines key concepts in children’s literature, including the structure of the novel and character development. It also features an infographic related to child labor. The analytical section investigates whether the harsh reality faced by chimney boys is accurately depicted and if the novel highlights the humane aspects of certain characters. It further evaluates whether the story offers an effective model to reduce child exploitation and promote justice. The findings suggest the novel evokes empathy and raises awareness about social injustices.
