Language is the basis for comprehension and the means by which the correct meanings are communicated to the intended audience; this language must have a clear and significant meaning for the listener as well as a semantic meaning expressed in the form of a sound, word, or sentence. Due to this, linguists throughout history, including today, have placed a high value on sounds, morphology, sentences, and even dictionary words. Since the change of sound or phoneme in a word changes the meaning of the word's environment, which is called a phoneme. For instance, (تاب)and (طاب)differ in meaning by changing the phoneme in the word. Arabic has its own phonemes that we do not find in Kurdish and these phonemes are:(ث-ذ-ص-ض-ط-ظ-،. These phonemes that have entered the Kurdish language have caused a phonetic change in the Kurdish language. For example, the sounds (ث)and (ص)in Arabic have been converted to the sound (س)in Kurdish language. The sounds (ض)and (ظ)are expressed as (ز)in Kurdish, and the sound (ط)has become (ت).
This research is entitled (Phonetic Meanings of alternative Arabic Creeping Words in Kurdish – A Comparative Study between Kurdish and Arabic Dictionaries), It consists of two parts, the first part sheds light on Sound transformation, creeping sounds (sound entering)and the phenomenon of influence and influence. The second part is a practical study of the meanings of the sounds that have entered Kurdish from Arabic in two dictionaries, which are:Dictionary (المعجم الوجيز)in Arabic and (Shwan dictionary)in Kurdish. At the end of the study, the most significant findings are presented and within those resources that this study has relied upon.
