This research seeks to explain the basic structure of the poetic lexicon in the book "Nafadat al-Jirāb fī ʿAlālat al-Ightirab" by Lisan al-Din Ibn al-Khatib. Language in the poetic text is not merely a means of communication, but rather a tool of aesthetic formation in which lexical meaning intertwines with contextual connotations. To produce a unique poetic discourse bearing its author's imprint, the research revealed that the analysis of the poetic lexicon showed the richness of the semantic fields adopted by the poet. The lexicon of satirical words was sharp-toned, charged with sarcasm and biting criticism, to express a rejectionist stance towards his adversaries or social or political phenomena he observed during his exile and alienation from his homeland. He used words of extreme contempt and mockery, describing them as animals at times and other things at other times. Meanwhile, the lexicon of words of sadness was characterized by a sincere and clear emotional depth, expressing feelings of sorrow, loss, and alienation, which gave the text an impactful human dimension. As for the lexicon of words of praise, it carried connotations of glorification, generosity, and commendation, especially those he said in praise of the noble Messenger (Muhammad, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace), highlighting the values and principles that the poet values for those he praises, indicating the sincerity of feelings. The lexicon of words of love added emotional warmth to the text and varied between direct and symbolic expression. To reveal the tender human side of the poetic experience, noting that this aspect is very limited in the poems of the book, as it focuses primarily on social, political, and historical issues.
