تتناول هذه الدراسة المعارضة الباكستانية لحكومة بناظير بوتو عام 1990, فقد عانت البلاد من الحكم العسكري لسنوات طوال, فكان لنظام الحكم المدني الاثر في الشعب الباكستاني؛ الا انه خلال هذ العام واجهت حكومة بناظير بوتو معارضة شديدة من عدة جهات, جعلتها في حالة استعداد دائم لصد اية محاولة لإسقاط حكومتها, وكانت للمعارضة السياسية لحكومة بناظير بوتو في العام نفسه اثر في عرقلة جهود الحكومة الباكستانية في تنفيذ برنامجها السياسي, الامر الذي منعها من تمرير تشريعاً واحداً في الجمعية الوطنية؛ نتيجة لشدة المعارضة داخلها, وكان لسياسة رئيسة الوزراء بناظير بوتو في مواجهة المعارضة؛ اثراً في ضعف موقف حكومتها ووقوعها في الازمات واحدة تلو الاخرى.
