Abstract

      The Ancient Iraqi laws  consider one of the important sources to the study of ancient history of Iraq, the diversity largely reflects the political, cultural and economic reality that to  the Iraqi communities at the time. 

     That search  came to highlights some of the crimes that counted legislator danger to the community, so it was tough to be addressed by the harsh and severe penalties for them. It came in the militancy of those sanctions in order to protect society from distractions that threaten   his being morally, socially and economically.                                                                                      

     Those   punishments differed from the age  to another,  Sumerian era for example  , the Sumerian laws were more lenient punishments in some of the subsequent laws, specifically the Babylonian and Assyrian. The research aims to statement rejected the ancient  Iraqi communities and powers of the ruling and the various roles of civilization to these crimes Which that are offensive to the community and all its components and disturbing public security
