An Analysis study of How Beliefs and Religions Are Reflected in the Arabian Peninsula and Iraq in Nasir Khusraw’s Safarnama

Abstract

            Travelogues constitute documents of profound historical and social value, forming primary sources that reflect the political, social, and cultural realities of their era. Among these, the travelogue of the sage Nasir Khusraw Qubadiyani stands out prominently. In the year 476 AH, he embarked on a pilgrimage journey that lasted seven years, during which he provided valuable information on the political and social conditions of Iraq and the Arabian Peninsula. In his observations, Nasir Khusraw paid particular attention to the beliefs and inhabitants of these regions, conveying his insights with depth and scholarly rigor, thereby reflecting the prevailing religious convictions and views of that period.
