Monitoring the community activity of youth A field social study in the city of Karbala

The current study aimed to monitor the community activity of youth in Iraqi society and to clarify the types of this activity from the social, economic, political and cultural aspects and to identify the factors influencing the community activity of youth in light of modern societal changes. Therefore, this study attempted to answer a set of questions, which were: What is the concept of community activity of youth in light of modern societal changes? What is the reality of community activity among youth and what are the factors influencing the degree of community participation of youth? What are the proposals for activating community activity of youth in light of modern societal changes? To what extent do youth participate in volunteer work in Iraqi society? What are the problems that hinder youth community activity? To achieve the study objectives, the researcher prepared a questionnaire on youth community activity and applied it to a sample of youth consisting of (300) males and females in the age group from 18 to 35 years, from the holy Karbala Governorate. The descriptive analytical approach was also used to analyze the responses of the study sample of youth using arithmetic averages and standard deviations. The (T-test for one sample) was also used, which was extracted and the questionnaire was built in light of it. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: The quality of community activity programs provided by youth is a basic factor for empowering and developing society socially, healthily, educationally and politically. Achieving partnership between the private sector, civil society organizations and the government in order to provide volunteer programs and activities that help develop society economically, socially, healthily, educationally and politically, and interest in spreading the culture of volunteering and the importance of youth community activities among members of society. In light of these results, the researcher presented some Recommendations and suggestions.
