As one of the most important centers established in the early Islamic conquests, the city of Kufa provided a favorable environment for the interaction of religious teachings, political structures, and social developments. This study, with a descriptive-analytical and historical approach, examines the multifaceted role of the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) - considering the important role of spiritual guiding wills in the formation of civilizations - in the city of Kufa in shaping the civilizational infrastructure of Islam; this issue, despite its great importance, has unfortunately received little attention so far.
The findings of the present study indicate that, under the guidance of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.), Kufa was transformed from a military base into a workshop for producing the fundamental ideas of a pure Islamic civilization and an intellectual, cultural, ideological, and civilizational hub for the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.), a center of education, and established the Kufa scientific school, which guaranteed the stability and intellectual depth of Islamic civilization. Amir al-Mu'minin Ali (AS) with his scientific approach and governance model based on divine justice, the dignity of citizenship, and the necessity of public oversight, Imam Hussein (AS)'s protest identity in transforming teachings into a driving force for resistance against oppression and creating an identity based on martyrdom, along with the scientific institutionalization and establishment of jurisprudential principles by subsequent Imams, led to the compilation of jurisprudence, theology, and ethical principles, which later became the backbone of Islamic civilization and played an important role in the formation of ideas, jurisprudential, interpretive, and philosophical schools.
