The Impact of Information Technology Applications on Knowledge Management Processes in Knowledge-Based Educational Institutions

Abstract

The research aims to reveal the impact of the relationship between information technology and knowledge management processes applications and to identify knowledge management processes in knowledge-based organizations. The researcher used the field method and questionnaire as a tool for collecting information. The research population and sample were employees working in the colleges and information centers at Wasit University. A random sample of 25% and (405) was selected from the total community of university employees. The results indicated that the highest impact of the dimensions of information technology applications on knowledge management processes was the human resources dimension, followed by the impact of the information and communications network, then devices and equipment. The lowest impact was the artificial intelligence applications dimension. The research recommendations include the use of knowledge management tools that allow for the organization, storage and retrieval of information easily and effectively, and the development of clear policies and regulations for naming files and determining how to save documents to facilitate access to them in the future.
