Abstract

This research on the method of using poetic imagery in Elias's poetry is precise, as it participates in five main types of sensory images that the poet uses to convey feelings and ideas in an effective artistic way. This image is represented by the speaking tongue: it relies on the sense of hearing to convey natural and artificial sounds, such as the rustle of words and the chirping of birds, a musical atmosphere that reflects the poet's inner feelings. The visual image: it uses the sense of sight to describe natural scenes, colors, and movements, making the text click from receiving. The olfactory image: it relies on romanticism and perfumes to link memories with feelings, such as the scent of roses or the smell of incense, which increases nostalgia or joy. The delicious image: it exercises the sense of taste to describe feelings, such as likening joy to the taste of honey, pain to the bitterness of patience. The tactile image: touching things, such as a rose or the coolness of a stone, confirms sensations physically and emotionally.
