Nali’s Reflection on different dimensions of death

Abstract

One of the existential and perpetual inquiries that humanity has consistently posed is the inquiry of what death is. All celestial and terrestrial religions, along with philosophical, social, psychological, and cultural schools, have diligently engaged with this matter in various ways to provide answers, comfort and a sense of normalization for the human mind. Literature, as a human science, reflects the products of human thought, emotion and psychology, in which the issue of death has always been dealt with and reflected in the works of poets.

Kurdish literature, like any other literature in the region and the world, has not avoided this important human concern. In classical literature, particularly that of the pioneer of Middle Kurdish classical literature, Nali has addressed the theme of death in a multidimensional and unique manner. He possesses a limited number of ghazals and poems that do not pertain to death and the concept of the term death.
