Time in the Poetry of Ibn Jubair Al-Andalusi

Abstract

Summary: 

        This research (Time in the Poetry of Ibn Jubair Al-Andalusi) is based on monitoring the descriptions of time  in the poet Ibn Jubair Al-Andalusi.  Since time is still a source of interest for people in general, and philosophers, and poets in particular, the connection between time and man is a close one that cannot be overlooked.  Therefore, we see many of them addressing it on every occasion, talking about its effects and actions and using it in their poems, leaving nothing of it without addressing it from all its aspects without exception. This is what the poet Ibn Jubair Al-Andalusi touched upon in his poetry, as we find the effectiveness of the descriptions of time present in his poetry.  Sometimes we find the poet complaining about time, sometimes he is satisfied with it, sometimes he satirizes it, sometimes he recalls the days of his youth and playfulness, and sometimes he mentions the days of his grayness and old age, using in this most of the descriptions of time such as (tomorrow, eternity, age, era, year, range, and complaining about time.  In general, day, night and day, sunrise and sunset, moment, and time in its real (sensual) description and its moral description.
