Cultural ecology and its impact on shaping behavioral patterns from an anthropological perspective

The study aimed to explore cultural ecology and its impact on shaping behavioral patterns from an anthropological perspective on Iraqi society. It sought to discover the effect of the cultural environment, cultural values, and subculture in shaping behavioral patterns and to understand the impact of social norms on forming these behavioral patterns within society. Additionally, it aimed to examine the influence of language and communication and their cultural impact.
The study employed a descriptive methodology, with a sample size of 189 individuals from the Iraqi community, selected randomly, and a questionnaire was administered to them. The results were as follows:
- The largest segment of the study sample was in the age group of 48-58 years, while the smallest was in the 18-28 age group. The majority of the sample were university graduates, while the smallest group consisted of illiterates.
- The largest proportion of the sample was male, with females coming in second. Most participants were self-employed, followed by those with small business projects.
- There is an influence of cultural values and subculture on shaping behavioral patterns from an anthropological perspective on Iraqi society, along with dominant cultural values that have led to the emergence of distinct behavioral patterns prevalent in Iraqi society.
- Social norms have an impact on shaping behavioral patterns in Iraqi society, as evidenced by the presence of authentic cultural customs within the community.
- Language and communication play a role in shaping behavioral patterns from an anthropological perspective on Iraqi society, as the Iraqi community holds onto the Arabic language and takes pride in its cultural identity. The study reached several recommendations.
