Geographical analysis of future housing needs in Al-Numaniyah city for the year 2045

Abstract

The research aims to estimate the future housing need to revive the city of Numaniyah in the year 2045, and what the city included in the base year in terms of population, area, and housing units, to reveal the future need and housing deficit, and to provide solutions and treatments that limit the housing problem. The research relied on the descriptive and statistical approach, To reach the results, as well as using maps, charts, and tables to analyze the reality of the city, the research concluded that the housing need in the city of Numaniyah is expected to reach (10,667) housing units, and the Al-Askari neighborhood took the lead with (1,601) housing units, due to the increase in numbers. Population and families, while the population of the neighborhoods of the study area in the target year will reach (135,154) people, While the number of families will reach (22,523) in the year 2045, the First Society neighborhood comes in first place with a housing deficit of (514) units, while the smallest housing deficit is in the Al-Assra neighborhood of 16 housing units.The research concluded that there is a quantitative shortage in the housing stock with high rates of population growth. Therefore, the role of the state in the development process must be activated. The research included a summary and theoretical framework, and dealt with estimating the size of the population, the number of families, forecasting residential land areas and the housing deficit, and calculating the rate of emptiness and housing need in the country.
