Abstract

women in the novel of British novelist Monica Ali, Brick Lane(2003). The novel reveals for the first time the interior lives of Bangladeshi immigrant women. It sheds light on their suffering as a marginalized group through giving voice to Nazneen, the main character in the novel. The events are interwoven with the effects of the terrorist attack of 9\ 11 and its consequences on the lives of the Bangladeshi and Muslim communities at that time.
