The Role of Digital Media in Enhancing Security Awareness Against Emerging crimes: An Analytical social study

The idea of the study was launched to reveal the role of contemporary media in shaping security awareness against new crimes, especially with regard to digital media, which is considered one of the preferred media outlets for the majority of segments of Iraqi society if it is well used scientifically and thoughtfully for this goal. The importance of this type of modern media comes from its distinction by a set of characteristics distinct from the rest of the print, audio, and visual media, such as the ease of its use by members of society, the diversity of cultural, social, and security programs and ideas presented by this media, in addition to the speed of providing diverse information to citizens, and its spread across the world. At the level of countries around the world, the study emphasized the necessity of employing digital media by security services and community police in disseminating security and preventive reports and information about new crimes, diversity in the means of presenting them, and adopting methods of persuasion, excitement and suspense in conveying security information, which would contribute significantly to increasing The awareness of the Iraqi citizen regarding these modern crimes.
