Documenting Arab proverbs from classical to colloquial – a historical and literary

Abstract

 This research seeks to study the historical and literary process of documenting Arabic proverbs, which began since the first century AH and has continued to our days, and the critical efforts that accompanied this process, and campaigns of support or opposition, especially those that accompanied the recording of proverbs and colloquial proverbs, with a focus on this. The aspect that represents a shift in language methods and its daily uses, and its repercussions on the documentary and critical processes, as well ason its representation of social and cultural transformations, political influences and others. With the extension of the time period for this study, the researcher was keen to stop at the prominent and influential stations in the context of the subject, and to monitor the important aspects as much as possible, and according to what was stated in the basic sources and studies that chronicled the history of proverbs, ancient and modern, without claiming to complete all its aspects, it is A large and complex topic that requires diverse studies in its methodological bases. Arabic proverbs have improved the Arab person’s experiences in life, demonstrated in some aspects the intellectual, intellectual, and ideological orientations of different groups, and chronicled, with the utmost emotional honesty, various details of social experiences, and transmitted them faithfully to successive generations. One of its clearest goals was to organize society educationally, according to special moral foundations, in addition to its expression of the aesthetics of linguistic use, regardless of the rules of the language.
