Suicide from a sociological perspective

Suicide is defined as the behavior that an individual resorts to assaulting himself in an emotional or non-conscious way, under the influence of violent shocks that make him in a disturbed psychological and social state to the extent that he uses dangerous means and tools that lead him to actual death. The importance of this research stems because of the effects of this crime on the life of the individual and society alike by threatening his entity and the entity of the whole society.
This research aims to identify what is the crime of suicide, highlighting the most important social theories that dealt with this crime, as well as identifying the causes of suicide, and the means and tools used in it. the analytical descriptive approach has been used in this research, and reached a set of results, the most important of which are:
1- Suicide is not only an individual act, but a social act according to different interpretations of suicide.
2-This crime is a social phenomenon suffered by all peoples of the world in varying proportions.
3-This crime occurs as a result of convergence of health conditions and problems, whether psychological, social, physical or economic.
