Financial institutions are the cornerstone of economic and social realms, embodying essential characteristics within evolving societies. Their pivotal role is furnishing requisite capital for diverse projects linked to governmental sectors, thereby underscoring their critical importance. Given their pivotal role and associated risks, nations endeavour to foster a favourable operational milieu for financial institutions. This endeavor entails regulatory frameworks, commitments enforcement, and robust supervision to ensure integrity, transparency, and stakeholder interest safeguarding. Consequently, financial institutions are integral components of the financial system that cater to societal needs. This financial system comprises a complex network encompassing financial institutions, entrepreneurs, individuals, and governing bodies overseeing its functioning. Fundamentally, their primary function revolves around facilitating the transfer of funds from borrowers to deficit units, a process facilitated through financial markets that unite suppliers and demanders of capital facilitated by intermediaries. Thus, the pivotal function of financial intermediation underscores their role in furnishing financial services to diverse economic entities, with particular emphasis on investments. Given the substantial impact of financial institutions on both economic and social spheres, this discourse aims to delve into their conceptual underpinnings and classification in the initial discourse, followed by examining regulatory concepts and their variants in the subsequent discourse
