Factors affecting population growth

This study aims to diagnose the causes and factors leading to the increasing population growth and to reveal its truth in Iraqi society. The human element is crucial in both historical and modern aspects, surpassing even the natural elements of a state. Therefore, a state cannot achieve complete human homogeneity, and the population’s significance lies in providing a foundation for building a strong state. The importance of population size is highlighted in enhancing the overall strength of a state, provided that its qualitative, technical, scientific, and cultural capabilities are elevated through training, qualification, and development.
The significance of population growth lies in being a mirror through which overall demographic changes can be understood. This knowledge provides decision-makers and planners with essential data to formulate general outlines for planning programs in various economic and social life domains. Population issues, such as births, deaths, and migration, are crucial in the social development movement. The future, security, and stability of societies are closely tied to demographic issues. Therefore, any change or transformation in the population necessitates a corresponding change in social policies. Consequently, the social and economic implications of population growth in Iraq during the current century require scientific and research attention across various fields.
