The Representations of Feminist Discourse: Nawal El Saadawi as a Model

The status of women in Islamic society is esteemed and significant, after previously being demeaned and undervalued in many societies before Islam. Islam has honored women and taken excellent care of them through various principles, safeguarding their humanity, declaring their full responsibility, affirming their eligibility, freeing them from the injustices of the pre-Islamic era, and bestowing upon them the roles of daughters, wives, and mothers. Islam has granted them numerous rights, including the right to education, even making it obligatory, the right to work, and the right to participate in decision-making. Islam has transferred complete responsibility for women to men as part of the divine mandate for humanity's stewardship on Earth, as stated in the Quran: “I am about to place a Vicegerent”. (Surah Al-Baqarah: 30). God has equally commanded both men and women to inhabit the Earth, as He said: ' And it is He Who has made you generations coming after generations, replacing each other on the earth.' (Surah Hud: 61). Furthermore, both men and women are equally tasked with worshipping Allah on Earth, for Allah says: ' And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship .' (Surah Adh-Dhariyat: 56). Thus, humanity collectively shares the responsibility entrusted to them by Allah, without exception.
