The Battle of Friedland in 1807 and the fate of French-Russian relations

Abstract

The Battle of Friedland, which took place in 1807, is one of the important battles in which the Russian and Prussian forces fought directly against the French forces. The Russian-French and gave way to Napoleon to implement his foreign policy represented by the continental blockade, which he followed in his conflict with Britain.

The study was divided into three sections. In the first section, we dealt with the Napoleonic wars on the eve of the Battle of Friedland, including the Franco-Prussian War in 1806 AD, and then we talked about the battle of Eylau 1807 AD, in which the Russian-Prussian armies allied against Napoleon. Then, in the second topic, we touched on the Battle of Friedland that took place on the 14th. June of 1807 AD, and its result was a decisive victory for Napoleon over the rivalry of those who incurred great losses, as a result of which they were forced to seek peace in Tilsit in 1807 AD, which was the title of our third topic, where Napoleon dictated his conditions to Tsar Alexander I, then we talked about the fate of the Russian-French relations that followed the conclusion Treaty of Tilsit in 1807 AD.

The research aims to discover some Subtleties and details of the Battle   of Friedland, by relying on modern Russian sources in addition to Arab and foreign sources.
