Uses of social networks and their relationship to changing urban behavior - a field

Abstract

Human communication appeared from the beginning of creation, and it is necessary for the cohesion of individuals, groups and peoples. Social networks are considered one of the most prominent new technological innovations in the world of the information revolution, until they have become a method of daily interaction and a pattern of knowledge exchange, and the rapid spread of these networks has made them one of the most important features of the modern era due to their profound effects and radical changes in the methods and forms of direct and indirect communication.

Social networks represent one of the manifestations of the information revolution, as they play a fundamental role in shaping the main activities of the human being in various aspects of life, through which the barriers of time and space have been removed, and these networks in particular have become a link between the countries of the world and the effective engine of various activities and fields for all groups of society in the world.As young people, including university students, poured into it to enter and belong to its vast community, and in view of the new virtual society that these networks represent, in which the borders disappeared and restrictions were removed from it, and at the same time it formed a unique social and media phenomenon, it absorbed all forms of traditional media, and broadcast it in a modern technical form. This new phenomenon had the greatest impact on attracting young people to it, as it is a new communication style based on advanced technologies that began with the second generation of the Internet.The current study deals with (Uses of social networks and their relationship to changing urban behavior) as a topic for it. And its problem is summarized by the following question :What is the relationship between the uses of social networks and changing urban behavior?. The descriptive approach with social survey by sample is adopted. The population included students of six colleges at Salah Al din University, and it tested a sample size of (380) male and female students who were selected by stratified random sample. Data collected by using a questionnaire. The theory of uses and gratifications adopted, and the SPSS statistical program used for purpose of analyzing collected data, and arriving results.
