Abstract

   The military plans and their movements led to build cities and military camps to use the as military bases and considered them as the starting point for their campaigns. Also, these camps used as a means of protection . this procedure used by Islamic Arab countries east and west but for different reasons. These cities became important administrative centers and brilliant sources  of knowledge. One of these cities is Kut  which occurs in the southern east of Tigiris river between Kuffa and Basrah. That affected all life spheres in Kuffa. So the research intends to shed the light on that city in the book under title " Mu'jem Al-Boldan"

(Lexicon of Countries) for Ya'qub  Al-Hamaoi. The writer recorded the information about the city according to the historical perspective that he mentioned in his book. He described it as one of the Islamic cities that considered to witness a prominent events in Muslims'  history. This happened after it's been established by AL-Hajjaj Ebn Yussif  AL-Thaqefi (75-95 AH/  694-713 DC) exact year (82 AH/701DC).
