Strategic Foresight and its Relationship to Organizational Success among Department Heads at Wasit University

The current research aimed to identify the level of strategic foresight and the level of organizational success among the heads of academic departments at Wasit University, and to uncover the correlation between them. To achieve this objective, the study adopted a descriptive-correlational approach, applying the research tool (a questionnaire) to a sample consisting of (400) faculty members at Wasit University. The tool comprised two scales: the Strategic Foresight Scale, which was built based on the definition of (Jafari & Nili, 2017), and the Organizational Success Scale, which was adopted from the study of (Al-Maksosi & Al-Shammari, 2023). Data were statistically analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The study yielded several key results, most notably: the existence of a strong, positive correlation between strategic foresight and organizational success. The results also revealed that both the level of strategic foresight and organizational success were at a (moderate) degree. Based on these findings, the study recommended the necessity of promoting a culture of future-oriented thinking within colleges and academic departments.
