This study examines the Verbs of Propinquity in the Semitic languages through a comparative linguistic approach. The research investigates these verbs in terms of their semantic functions, structural patterns, and contextual implications across the Semitic language family. These verbs are classified into three categories. The first category comprises Verbs of Propinquity, such as kāda (“to almost”) and awshaka (“to be on the verge of”). The second category includes verbs of hope, such as ʿasā (“to perhaps / to hope”). The third category encompasses inceptive verbs, such as sharaʿa (“to commence / to undertake”)
