Multitasking and Its Relationship with Social Affection Among High School Students

The aim of this research is to study multitasking and social affection among high school students, identify statistical differences in multitasking and social affection according to gender and specialization, and explore the relationship between these variables. The researcher used the Multitasking Scale developed by Poposki & Oswald (2010), consisting of 14 items, and the Social Affection Scale developed by the researcher, consisting of 20 items. These scales were applied to a sample of 400 students (240 female and 160 male) for the academic year 2022-2023. The results showed that students possess a high ability for multitasking, with statistically significant differences in multitasking attributed to gender and specialization. However, no significant differences in social affection were found based on gender or specialization. Furthermore, a positive and statistically significant correlation was found between multitasking and social affection. The study concluded with a discussion of the results and the presentation of recommendations and suggestions.
