In light of the talk about artificial intelligence, governments use artificial intelligence in data analysis to process large amounts of information about civil society organizations and individuals applying to register civil society organizations. Governments can use this information to restrict freedom of association by arbitrarily granting and rejecting registrations based on certain characteristics Such as political or religious beliefs, artificial intelligence can also contribute to the work of civil society by blocking the websites of opposition groups and human rights organizations.
