Abstract:

This study is an attempt to emerge  the status of Iraq in literature field previously and recently. I endeavor   to display  this status in a pioneer sample of study which is (the modern Omani poetry)

Through multiple readings for Omani poetry, I find that the national character is commplace, reflected in a range of images. One of them is to share the suffering of Arab peoples. What attracts my attention is a poem of the modern Omani poet (Mahmoud Bin Nasir  Al Saqri marked by (A scream of an Iraqi Child) which depicts the suffering of an Iraqi child during the period of the embargo. 

This poem consists of a  variety of genres, ideas and wonderful masterpiece of linguistic expressions
