Abstract

Guided by the principle of respecting human rights as a fundamental pillar for the advancement and progress of nations, and to safeguard individual dignity and freedom, achieve justice and equality within society, foster social stability, and support comprehensive development, the Presidency of the University of Wasit—through its Human Rights Unit—organized a scientific conference titled: "The First Human Rights Conference."

Held on January 11, 2026, the conference was conducted in collaboration with several colleges within the university, including the Colleges of Administration and Economics, Medicine, Education for Pure Sciences, Arts, and Education for Human Sciences.

Among the key recommendations issued by the Scientific Committee was the decision to publish the presented research papers free of charge in the Lark Journal for Philosophy, Linguistics, and Social Sciences, to support researchers.
