Al_qattal Al_killabi Poetry: A Study of Subject and Art

Abstract

The research titled "The Poetry of Al-Qattal Al-Kilabi: A Study of Themes and Artistic Aspects" is based on two main axes. The first axis, preceded by a biographical overview of the poet’s social and literary life, highlights his poetic activity and the literary environment from which he drew his cultural background. It also provides a preliminary evaluation of his poetic standing among his contemporaries and discusses the various poetic purposes he addressed. The second axis focuses on the themes explored by the poet, such as elegy, praise, prison descriptions, nostalgia for homeland, and silence about revenge. It also sheds light on the components of his artistic imagery, poetic musicality, and the language he used to craft poetic images, in addition to other poetic techniques such as explicitness, repetition, and others. The research concludes with a summary of the key findings, along with the sources and references consulted by the researchers. Undoubtedly, the poet’s Diwan (collected works) was the primary source for this study, relying on the first edition published by Dar Al-Thaqafa in Beirut.
