Nostalgia for Iraq in the poems of the poet Shmuel Moreh

Abstract

This study sheds light on the homesickness of Iraqi Jews for their homeland that they lived with Iraqi society without problems, this issue left in their hearts everything that is good and beautiful in all aspects of life.

Israel understood the danger of longing, and hastened to provide a solution communities that immigrated to Israel from Arab countries and that prepared them in neighborhoods together, and let them live the same lives and customs that they had in the mother countries, with the ambition that change will gradually come and erase the memories of the past, that everything will end with the emigrants' elders and their settling down of the young people in the new life. But this has not happened until now, despite the decades that have passed since they immigrated to Israel, and the longing remains burning and burning above and below and beyond the carpet.

I chose a model to prove this in the character of Professor Shmuel Mora, the Iraqi Jewish immigrant who still lives the longing as a fire in his bones, and seeks to soften it by writing poems and hundreds of articles and thirty-five books in Arabic about his memories in Iraq in the land of rivers.
