تتناول الدراسة تحليل رواية النبيذة للكاتبة العراقية إنعام كجه جي، لكشف آليات الصراع على الهوية ، بمختلف أنواعها ؛الذاتية ، ولوطنية ومن ثم الوجودية ،وفق المنهج النقدي لتحليل الخطاب الذي طوره نورمان فيركلاف ، والذي يستند إلى ثلاثة محاوررئيسة تتقاطع عندها الهوية وآليات تفكيكها وجمعها ،وهذه المحاور هي: الوصف والتفسير والتبيين . في الوصف سعينا إلى تقفِّي البنية اللغوية وتماسكها في الخطاب الروائي ، مستحضرين الأصوات ودلالاتها ، وأثرها في البنية الثقافية الهووية للرواية ،عبر تفكيك اللغة السردية و دورها المركزي في بناء الهويات ، ثم إعادة تشكيلها في ضوء الدلالة . ونتناول في المحور الثاني تفسيرالرؤى والمواقف التي عاشتها الشخصيات في سياق اجتماعي وثقافي وسياسي مضطرب، معوِّلين على الشخصيات التي تعيش منفى وجوديا، وانتماء متصدعا في الزمان والمكان . أما محور التبيين فأظهرنا فيه تمثيلات الصراع الداخلي والخارجي الذي عاشته الشخصيات بغية الحصول على الهوية ، ومقاومة الصور النمطية السائدة، والبنية الفكرية للسلطة الذكورية والسياسية.
تخلص الدراسة إلى أن الرواية تقدم صراعاً هووياً في عملية مستمرة من التفاوض على انتماء الذات إلى الذات وانتمائها إلى الوطن، ومن خلال التأرجح بين الماضي والحاضر ، بين الوطن والمنفى، بين الحرية والانتماء.
