يتناول هذا البحث ظاهرة تقييد الجملة الاسمية بـ(كان) وأخواتها في كتاب تحف العقول عن آل الرسول لابن شُعبة البحراني، مبينًا أثر هذه الأدوات في بناء المعنى النصي، والانسجام الدلالي للنصوص الروائية. اعتمدت الباحثة المنهج التحليلي الدلالي؛ للكشف عن الوظائف النحوية والبلاغية لهذه النواسخ، مبرزةً دورها في تقييد الزمن، وتحديد المعنى بين الدوام والانقطاع والتحول. كما أوضحت الدراسة أنَّ دلالة التقييد تختلف باختلاف الأداة المستعملة، وأنَّ هذه الأفعال الناقصة تُسهم في إبراز المعنى البلاغي والديني العميق في النصوص، مؤكدةً على أنَّ توظيفها في تحف العقول يكشف عن دقة التعبير، وثراء اللغة في الفكر الإسلامي.
