The problematic of translating the meaning of jihad in the Holy Quran into Hebrew Translated by Uri Rubin as a Model (Critical study)

Abstract

The present paper touches upon the concept of “Jihad (holy war)” in the translation of the meanings of the Noble Qur’an into Hebrew made by the Jewish translator Uri Rubin. Translating the meanings of the Noble Qur’an into Hebrew has been the focus of attention of specialists due to the seriousness and importance of such studies.

      The translator Robin has made great mistakes as a result of his wrong understanding or incorrect interpretation of the noble Qur’an texts;  the nature of the Qur’an texts, its rhetorical miracles and the Islamic meanings and concepts they contain require a deep understanding and a conscious mentality. The translator Robin is supposed to have full understanding of the term “Jihad” to  translate it in the correct and proper way into Hebrew. The translator wants to spread and confirm the Zionist ideas in the translations of the Holy Quran.

     The study shows that the translation of the meanings of the Noble Qur’an has started since the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) during the call to spread Islam. On the other hand, as a result of the status  the Jews had under the Islamic Caliphate in Andalusia, the translations of the Holy Qur’an were issued partially and completely.       The mistakes in Rubin's translation of the meanings of the Noble Qur’an into Hebrew, which is inconsistent with the original text, may show that the main purpose of the translation is to distort the meanings of the Noble Qur’an.
