Spatial Terms in Andalusian Poetry: A Semantic and Aesthetic Study

Place is one of the most prominent influences that left its mark on poets' psyches, and this influence was clearly evident in Andalusian poetry. Andalusian poets expressed their deep connection to place, mentioning cities, mountains, rivers, and gardens, and using a variety of terms with geographical, historical, and symbolic connotations. This research examines the terminology of place in Andalusian poetry in terms of its types and connotations, and attempts to highlight the aesthetic dimensions associated with it, whether realistic or symbolic.
