Fatima Hekmat lived her childhood and youth in an important stage in the history of the Turkish Republic, and that stage played a role in refining her subsequent political orientations. She entered agriculture, a profession that was not suitable for women at that time, but her defiance of reality and her service to her country made her enter that college. Fatima was affected by socialist ideas not Especially the improvement of agriculture and the development of the farmer, so she joined the Turkish Workers’ Party in 1964 and was a qualitative addition to the party because she holds a doctorate and carries progressive socialist thought. She participated in the 1966 elections and won the only seat for the Workers’ Party. Through her presence in the Senate, she worked to discuss many problems and issues country-specific problems, especially the problems affecting the people's livelihood represented in the agricultural sector.
