Concept of Consciousness:

Abstract

Stream of consciousness is considered one of the most significant experimental attempts in the course of the Arab and world novel writing. It has passed through all the prevalent traditional currents and invented new ways and methods of artistic expression which represent the status of the intellectual maturity of the self, society and existence.

The present paper attempts to know the most recurrent technicalities of the stream of consciousness and to disclose its artistic levels through the procedural analysis of (Love Bearer) by the Iraqi novelist Ahmed Khalaf. The novel is considered an artistic example that uncovers the presence of stream of consciousness in the Iraqi novel. In other words, the paper is an attempt to study the text and its way of writing along with its devices, technicalities such as the interior monologue, the time – place montage, the free flow of ideas and implications..etc . among all technical styles and skills.
