Abstract

This research deals with the British administration in Shatrah 1918- 1920, which is one of the salient aspects of the contemporary history of this city. And to determine the time frame for this historical era, starting from 1918, which is the beginning of the direct control of the British Shatrah, while it is a 1920 outbreak of armed popular uprising in 1920 against British occupation. This research consists of historical introduction and epilogue, and three sections, the first section dealt with administrative and political situations in Shatrah after the departure of the Ottomans in 1917. The second topic for the British administration of direct Shatrah. While the third section dealt with administrative regulations and business by the British. This research and rely on a variety of sources, comes in the forefront of British documents published and unpublished.

Has faced the British legacy of Ottoman administrative heavy and collapsing, they tried to remodel, consistent with the requirements of their military objectives. Has followed the British Initially, management approach is consistent and expertise in place in India, but the implementation of those actions brought British number of politicians administrators, although they tried to attract elements of the local administrative, since they are confined those administrative positions essential to them and to the elements of the local those positions secondary.
