The poetics of parallelism in the structure of event

Abstract

     Umayyad prose served as a faithful mirror of the spirit of its time, reflecting the political, social, and cultural transformations that shaped the stylistic and expressive structures of its literary output. This study, titled "The Poetics of Parallelism in the Structure of Event in Umayyad Prose," highlights one of the most prominent stylistic features that contributed to the aesthetic quality of Umayyad proseو, parallelism, as an artistic technique with both structural and semantic significance within the narrative event. The research focuses on analyzing the role of parallelism in forming the internal rhythm of prose texts and its function in escalating narrative events or intensifying meaning. It also explores how parallelism is employed to emphasize dramatic tension within the text, reflecting the Umayyad writers’ awareness of artistic formulation and the depth of thematic treatment. Within this framework, the event stands as the cornerstone of all other narrative elements, functioning as the central component in constructing a literary work.
