This study explores the relationship between neurotic perfectionism and religious orientation, both intrinsic and extrinsic, among primary school teachers. It aims to identify the levels of these variables and examine how they are related. The sample consisted of 133 teachers (36 males and 97 females) working in public daytime primary schools affiliated with the Wasit Directorate of Education. To achieve the research objectives, two instruments were used: the short form of the Big Three Perfectionism Scale (BTPS-SF) developed by Smith et al. (2016), which contains 16 items to measure neurotic perfectionism, and a 38-item scale developed by Al-A’araji (2007) to assess intrinsic and extrinsic religious orientation. Data were analyzed using several statistical methods via SPSS, including one-sample and independent-sample t-tests and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The results showed no statistically significant relationship between neurotic perfectionism and intrinsic religious orientation. However, a significant correlation was found between neurotic perfectionism and extrinsic religious orientation. Teachers displayed high levels of both neurotic perfectionism and intrinsic religious orientation, while male teachers significantly outperformed females in extrinsic religious orientation. Based on these findings, the researcher proposed a number of recommendations and suggestions for further study.
