Analysis of Narrative Techniques in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland

Abstract

Man's nature favors all that is beautiful and pleasurable for himself. Moreover, art and literature in particular express what is inside the man because it replicates his nature and the sole outlet available to him in various forms, such as writing, speech, and others. The art of the short story is one of the most important arts that has and still grabs the attention of children. This artwork is closer to the child's psychology due to the story's influence on his thoughts and interest, as well as the existence of similar characters. We frequently observe the child emulating them and those personalities, as they shape his beliefs and fulfill his goals and proclivities. The art of narration is therefore either a narration of a novel or a narration of a story. I chose the story's narration because it conveys the sensations and potentials of the human soul, which have frequently been thwarted by deprivation. From the briefness and research, it was in the form of titles, not investigations, and I was familiar with the story and its author, Lewis Carroll and Alice, about whom the story was written, as well as the existing narrative techniques with some selected passages from the story, which include place, time, retrieval, anticipation, scene, and pause.
