إنَّ الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو مقاربة ملامح العنف المؤسساتي في رواية (كاهنات معبد أور) لرسمية محيبس, والتنويه بما تمارسه المؤسسات الاجتماعية والسياسية والثقافية من انتهاكات في سبيل تحقيق مطالبها ورغباتها وفرض السلطة بالقوة وبالاقصاء وبالتهميش, وهذا ما دأبت النصوص الروائية بعد 2003 على مقاربته, إذ عملت على تعرية الاقع والتنديد بالجرائم التي مورست ضد الافراد على جميع المستويات السياسية والاجتماعية والثقافيةو فتحولت الكتابة الى صرخت ة بعد صمت طويل. وتعد الدراسة السوسيولوجية من الأدواة المؤثرة في تحليل النص الأدبي ولا سيما ال النص الروائي عن طريق تحليل الاخلاق والعادات والظوةاهر الاجتماعية؛ لأن الرواية تجربة يتشارك فيها المبدع والمتلقي ذات الطبقة الاجتماعية, ساعية للوصول الى حل للمشكلات الاجتماعية التي عاش فيها العراقي/ الجنوبي, والتي صورتها الرواية.
